WNAM REPORT: President Prabowo Subianto expressed Indonesia’s support and solidarity for Doha during his meeting with the Emir of Qatar, Sheik Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, at Lusail Palace, Doha, on Friday, following the recent Israeli attack.
According to a statement received here on Friday, upon his arrival at the palace, President Prabowo was welcomed directly by the Emir.
As he began the meeting, President Prabowo conveyed his deep sympathy to the people affected by the Israeli attack in Doha on Tuesday (September 9).
He emphasized that Indonesia supports the sovereignty of Qatar and emphasized the importance of international solidarity in responding to the attack, which threatens regional solidarity.
In addition to discussing the global security situation, the two leaders also discussed global dynamics, including the escalation of conflicts in the Middle East.
President Prabowo highlighted the need for countries to play a role in maintaining geopolitical balance and prioritizing international dialogue.
He also called for the world to speak up more strongly to stop all forms of aggression that harm civilians.
Apart from that, diplomacy that is based on humanity, justice, and peace is also deemed key to a more stable future.
Meanwhile, the Emir of Qatar, Sheik Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, expressed appreciation for Indonesia’s support and asserted his commitment to cooperating with Indonesia in strengthening global diplomacy, especially in humanitarian issues.
President Prabowo Subianto arrived in Doha, Qatar, on Friday at 3.20 p.m. local time via Hamad International Airport. He departed via Halim Perdanakusuma Airbase, Jakarta, earlier that day, accompanied by Foreign Affairs Minister Sugiono and the Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
Upon his arrival, he was received by Qatar’s Defense Minister Sheikh Saoud Bin Abdulrahman Bin Hassan Bin Ali Al-Thani, Indonesian Ambassador to Qatar Ridwan Hassan, and Indonesian Defense Attaché Colonel Tengku Sony Sonatha.
