ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT ): According to All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association exports despatches on the contrary, declined by massive 23.44%, reducing from 1.081 million tons in October 2024 to just 0.827 million tons in October 2025.
Total Cement despatches during October 2025 were 4.754 million tons against 4.490 million Tons despatched during the same month of last fiscal year, showing a marginal growth of 5.87%.
In October 2025, North based cement mills despatched 3.525 million tons cement showing an increase of 15.03% against 3.064 million tons despatches in October 2024. South based mills despatched 1.23 million tons cement during October 2025 that was 13.81% less compared to the despatches of 1.425 million tons during October 2024.
North based cement mills despatched 3.379 million tons cement in domestic markets in October 2025 showing an increase of 18.07% against 2.862 million tons despatches in October 2024. South based mills despatched 547,661 tons cement in local markets during October 2025 that was almost equal to the despatches of 547,611 during October 2024.
Exports from North based mills dropped by 27.79% as the quantities reduced from 202,858 tons in October 2024 to 146,478 tons in October 2025. Exports from South also reduced by 22.43% to 680,903 tons in October 2025 from 877,833 tons during the same month last year.
During the first four months of current fiscal year, total cement despatches (domestic and exports) were 17.265 million tons that is 15.48% higher than 14.951 million tons despatched during the corresponding period of last fiscal year. Domestic despatches during this period were 13.849 million tons against 11.728 million tons during same period last year showing an increase of 18.09%. Export despatches were 5.97% more as the volumes increased to 3.416 million tons during the first four months of current fiscal year compared to 3.223 million tons exports done during same period of last fiscal year.
North based Mills despatched 11.739 million tons cement domestically during the first four months of current fiscal year showing an increase of 18.46% than cement despatches of 9.910 million tons during July-October 2024. Exports from North also increased by 13.84% percent to 808,344 tons during July-October 2025 compared with 710,059 tons exported during the same period last year. Total despatches by North based Mills increased by 18.15% to 12.547 million tons during first four months of current financial year from 10.620 million tons during same period of last financial year.
Domestic despatches by South based Mills during July-October 2025 were 2.110 million tons showing an increase of 16.07% over 1.818 million tons cement despatched during the same period of last fiscal year. Exports from South also increased by marginal 3.75% to 2.607 million tons during July-October 2025 compared with 2.513 million tons exported during the same period last year. Total despatches by South based Mills increased by 8.92% to 4.718 million tons during first four months of current financial year from 4.331 million tons during same period of last financial year.
A spokesman of All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association said that the decline in exports during last two consecutive months is a matter of concern. “If this trend continues, it may dent our hopes of cement sector revival,” he added, and urged the government to take export-friendly measures to make our cement more competitive and attractive for foreign markets.
