(WNAM Monitoring): President of the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) Kerrith Brown, CEO Densign White, and the organization’s Director Wissam Abi Nader arrived in Uzbekistan. They got acquainted with Uzbekistan’s modern sports facilities and infrastructure.
At a meeting with the Minister of Sports of Uzbekistan A. Ikramov, organizational issues of the upcoming World Championships were discussed. A press conference was held with the participation of guests, Deputy Minister of Sports of Uzbekistan Shakhrullo Makhmudov and First Deputy Chairman of the Association of Mixed Martial Arts of Uzbekistan Sherzod Toshmatov.
Taking into account Uzbekistan’s extensive experience in holding prestigious competitions at a high level, as well as the high assessment of the world community for the conditions created in the country for athletes, the leadership of MMA officially announced that the first World Championships in mixed martial arts among amateurs will be held in October.
The MMA World Championships is being organized in Central Asian countries for the first time, and Uzbekistan has become the first country to host a tournament of such a high level.
