WNAM REPORT: In recent years, relations between Uzbekistan and the United States have reached a new level and are advancing rapidly within the framework of a strategic partnership. Cooperation between the two countries is consistently strengthening, both within the framework of political dialogue and in the fields of economy, investment, education, science, tourism, agriculture, and innovation.

On behalf of the Head of State, Bukhara region’s delegation paid a working visit to the United States twice last November. During the visits, promising business relationships were established with large companies, investors, and representatives of the business community.

In particular, following negotiations in Memphis and San Francisco, an agreement was reached to establish a modern, multidisciplinary medical center in Bukhara for $30 million. Contracts have been signed with leading textile companies to export finished textile products totaling $60 million.

Important agreements have also been reached in the field of youth policy and innovative development. In particular, American investors intend to invest $20 million in organizing startup incubation and acceleration programs for young people in Bukhara.

Practical negotiations were held on the modernization of irrigation networks, the introduction of water-saving technologies, and the establishment of the production of advanced equipment. These projects will help increase agricultural efficiency and the rational use of resources.

Within the framework of cooperation with the U.S. National Cotton Council, agreements have been reached on a strategic partnership in cotton production in Bukhara region.

According to available information, American partners will participate in financing projects of cotton and textile clusters in Bukhara region. Within the framework of the cooperation, new initiatives are planned for cotton cultivation, processing, logistics, trade, and export. Joint strategies will be developed to increase product competitiveness in international markets.

As part of cooperation in 2026-2028, it is planned to develop up to 100,000 hectares of desert land, introduce water-saving technologies worth $250 million, and launch joint educational programs to train highly qualified personnel in the agricultural sector.

Cooperation in tourism is also consistently developing. In 2024, 15,000 tourists from the United States visited Bukhara, and in 2025, more than 20,000 did. According to forecasts, the number of tourists will increase in 2026.

In addition, it is planned to export products manufactured in Bukhara from a special logistics site in Chicago. This will enable the establishment of sales through the largest shopping malls in the United States, as well as through platforms such as Amazon and Walmart.

The measures are aimed at boosting the economic development of both Bukhara region and the country as a whole.
