WNAM MONITORING: North Korea conducted a 600mm ultra-precision multiple rocket launcher strike drill Saturday, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported Sunday.

A statement followed South Korea’s announcement about 10 ballistic missiles by North Korea toward the East Sea.

“Twelve 600mm super-precision multiple launch rocket systems and two artillery companies were mobilized for the exercise,” the report said.

KCNA said the drill, attended by North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, involved the long-range artillery subunit in the western area.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff said Saturday it detected the missiles launched from the Sunan area in North Korea at around 1.20 pm (0420GMT), according to Seoul-based Yonhap news agency.

Seoul denounced the missile launches as violations of UN Security Council resolutions and demanded they stop.
