Romanian Ambassador Calls on National Assembly Speaker; Reaffirms Commitment to Stronger Bilateral Relations

ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT ):  Ambassador of Romania to Pakistan, H.E. Dan Stoenescu, called on Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, and held a cordial and productive meeting aimed at further strengthening the longstanding friendship and cooperation between Romania and Pakistan.
During the meeting, Ambassador Stoenescu presented the Speaker with the album of the first-ever choral version of Pakistan’s Qaumi Tarana (National Anthem). The Ambassador highlighted that Romania had proudly offered Pakistan the first professional choral arrangement and written musical score of its national anthem as a unique gesture of friendship and cultural cooperation between the two countries.
He noted that this landmark cultural initiative was realized by the renowned Romanian National Chamber Choir, “Madrigal – Marin Constantin,” reflecting the deep respect and goodwill that Romania holds for Pakistan and its people.
The two dignitaries discussed avenues to further enhance Romania-Pakistan bilateral relations, with particular focus on parliamentary diplomacy, cultural exchanges, people-to-people contacts, and cooperation in areas of mutual interest. They also exchanged views on key regional and international developments and emphasized the importance of dialogue and cooperation in addressing global challenges.
Ambassador Stoenescu acknowledged Pakistan’s constructive diplomatic efforts in promoting regional peace and stability. He particularly appreciated Pakistan’s role in facilitating dialogue and supporting ceasefire efforts in the Middle East, coinciding with the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding aimed at advancing peace and de-escalation in the region.
Speaking on the occasion, the Romanian Ambassador stated that Romania and Pakistan enjoy a longstanding and friendly relationship based on mutual respect, shared values, and fruitful cooperation. He expressed confidence that bilateral ties would continue to deepen through sustained dialogue, cultural engagement, parliamentary exchanges, and enhanced collaboration across diverse sectors.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to further strengthening the bonds of friendship and expanding cooperation between Romania and Pakistan for the mutual benefit of both nations and their peoples.
