WNAM MONITORING: In August this year, construction of the “Markaziy Osiyo” (Central Asia) Industrial Cooperation Complex will begin on the border of Uzbekistan with Kazakhstan.
The industrial complex, which will be built in Turkestan region of Kazakhstan and Syrdarya district of Syrdarya region of Uzbekistan, will occupy an area of almost 100 hectares. In accordance with the project, the indoor facility will have conditions for production and wholesale trade.
With the participation of the delegation that arrived in Uzbekistan on a working visit, led by the Vice-Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kairat Torebayev, the Hokim of Syrdarya region Akmaljon Makhmudaliyev and representatives of relevant ministries and agencies, a discussion of the project took place.
It was noted that the products manufactured, along with third countries, will be exported to the markets of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. As a result, the volume of mutual trade turnover is expected to increase to $10 billion. The date for the entire operation of the complex and its use for commercial purposes is set for 2030.
The Industrial Cooperation Complex will help increase the gross regional product of Turkestan and Syrdarya regions and transform the bordering territories into a large logistics center.
Following the meeting, the parties signed a joint document.
