WNAM REPORT: :Gilgit-Baltistan’s Shigar District is all set to become the hub of adventure and excitement with the mega event of Sarfranga Cold Desert Rally to be held from October 6th to 8th, 2023. The grand event is taking place with the collaboration of GB Tourism Department and Pakwheels which will surely attract the international as well as local tourists.
Secretary Tourism Gilgit Baltistan Asif Ullah Khan while briefing the media persons in Islamabad said that Pakistan, is known for its stunning beauty and natural attractions worldwide and that
this mega event is scheduled to take place at one of the highest cold deserts on the planet, he added .
On his part, Chief Executive Officer of Pakwheels Sunil Munj said that the rally will offer a unique and challenging experience to participants, with a variety of terrains to navigate, including sand dunes, gravel roads, and water crossings. It will also be a great opportunity for spectators to witness the thrill of off-road racing in a stunning setting.
In addition the event will also feature a variety of cultural and sporting activities, including polo matches, zakh competitions, and cultural shows. This will be a great opportunity for visitors to experience the rich culture and traditions of Baltistan.
Managing Director PTDC, Aftab Ur Rehman Rana, Secretary Tourism GB and Deputy Commissioner Shigar also answered the queries of the media persons.
