ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT ): Chairman of the Pakistan Alternative Energy Association (PAEA), Asif Javed, has welcomed the government’s decision to introduce a policy promoting the local manufacturing of solar panels and batteries, describing it as a positive and far-reaching initiative for both the energy sector and the national economy.
He said that local manufacturing of solar panels and batteries would not only reduce the country’s reliance on imports but also help save valuable foreign exchange, attract new investment, and create significant employment opportunities.
Asif Javed noted that, given the rapidly growing adoption of renewable energy in Pakistan, the local production of high-quality solar products has become a pressing necessity. He urged the government to introduce special measures for local manufacturers, including tax incentives, easy financing, support for research and development, and access to advanced technologies, enabling Pakistan to emerge as a leading industrial hub for renewable energy in the region.
He expressed optimism that this initiative would further strengthen Pakistan’s solar industry and ensure the availability of high-quality solar products and batteries to consumers at affordable prices.
