TEHRAN: Iranian Oil Minister Javad Owji stated that Islamabad is interested in the quick operationalization of Iran’s gas export pipeline to Pakistan.
Accompanying Iran President Ebrahim Raeisi on his visit to Islamabad, the Iranian Oil Minister stated that Pakistan is eager to inject gas into the IP (Iran–Pakistan) gas pipeline as soon as possible, adding that Pakistan is arranging contracts with various companies to speed up the process.
Saying that there is an international agreement signed between Iran and Pakistan, he expressed hope to see gas export to Pakistan during the 13th government’s in Iran under President Raeisi.
Owji met with Musadik Masood Malik, Pakistan’s Minister of State for Petroleum on Monday to discuss relations between the two countries, especially in the energy and oil and gas sector.
The development of bilateral cooperation in the field of energy and the export of technical and engineering services is also one of the main points of the negotiations between the oil ministers of Iran and Pakistan on Monday.
Pakistan’s oil minister, for his part, said that there are stunning opportunities between the two countries to deepen trade and economic cooperation, expressing his satisfaction with the visit of President Raeisi and the Iranian delegation to Pakistan.
He continued that the first stage of the negotiations related to all axes was held and this process will continue in the next stages.
Pakistan’s oil minister emphasized that Iran and Pakistan continue to cooperate for the region’s prosperity and to ensure the interests of each other’s nations.
