Tashkent: President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will visit the city of Dubai from 30 November to 2 December for a working visit to participate in the United Nations Climate Change Conference.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates, has invited Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Dubai.
It is expected that heads of states and governments from more than 150 countries, leaders of influential international organizations, and financial institutions will participate in the conference.
The agenda of the event includes issues related to the implementation of the key provisions of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, addressing contemporary environmental challenges and threats, and promoting broad international cooperation to advance the goals of “green” development.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will deliver a speech at the plenary session of the summit. The President of Uzbekistan will also hold a series of bilateral meetings and negotiations.
It is worth noting that Uzbekistan joined the UN Framework Convention in 1993. In 2018, Uzbekistan became a participant in the Paris Agreement.
