ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT):  Founder Chairman of Pakistan Association of Exhibition Industry Mohammad Khurshid Barlas has said in his exclusive interview that there is no doubt that the country of Pakistan is currently going through the worst economic situation according to the IMF. The conditions imposed by the economic situation is not very favorable due to lack of productivity and other reasons. However, the gradual reduction in inflation, stabilization of the dollar rate, improvement in the stock exchange are positive indicators.

We have to go towards public-private partnership to improve the economic situation on a permanent basis, because the government’s job is not to do business, governments are facilitators. Happens. Along with this, all the policies made in the business field have to be made in conjunction with the stakeholders and experts in the field. A conducive environment has to be provided for internal and especially external investment Then we will get the desired results. Khurshid Barlas further said that we have to highlight the positive image of our country in the world. One of our conferences in Jeddah raised $19 billion in investment.

We do a lot of homework, select targets, do research, contact investors. Provides information to those interested in investing. Then the desired results are achieved. We have to promote investment with the neighboring countries. In this context, the government should hold an investment conference in any country. So follow up is very important. Sometimes we don’t get results just because we forget to do any event and then don’t follow up. In response to a question, he said that we have to set our targets in education, civil aviation, medical, tourism and there are many other sectors that can attract the attention of investors. In response to another question, he said that the economic situation in our neighboring country India is seen better. The media has the most important role in this. Their media stands with the government.

Unfortunately, the media has such a positive role in our country. It is not paying we should have a key role of media to discuss the politics and that too the internal politics on the media 24 hours a day. In this regard, the Ministry of Information should also play its role. Feedback should be sought from researchers and the experience of successful people should be utilized. Whenever policy makers make policies, they must consult with experts in the field. Those people can give better opinion. We have to work together with stakeholders for far-reaching results. Mohammad Khursheed Barlas said that Pakistan is a country where there is a lot of potential, there are immense opportunities for investment, but here we only need to show the best image of our country to the world, then investors from all over the world can come here. In this regard, our personal efforts are definitely paying off. But government capital is also necessary for this.

( It is noteworthy that Muhammad Khurshid Barlas  is a  Founder Chairman of Pakistan Association Exhibition Industry, Executive Member of Foundation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, President of Handicraft Association of Pakistan, President of Pakistan Business Council of Pakistan Chapter, Regional Coordination Committee, Rawalpindi Chamber Chairman of Commerce and Industry, Vice President of Pak-Iran Joint Chamber of Commerce, Life Member of SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Chief Executive of Pak World Trade and Expo Center Private Limited).
