WNAM MONITORING: At the invitation of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev the United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres arrived in Uzbekistan on an official visit.
The Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov and other officials met the distinguished guest at Tashkent International Airport.
The program of his stay in Tashkent provides for holding high-level talks.
The agenda includes further enhancing and strengthening Uzbekistan’s multifaceted cooperation with the UN and its institutions and current aspects of global politics and regional cooperation. Particular attention will be paid to supporting measures to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals in Uzbekistan.
The UN Secretary-General will also visit several industrial and social facilities and hold bilateral meetings and events during the visit.
