WNAM REPORT: A new national tourism brand will be established in Uzbekistan as per the Presidential decree “On Additional Measures to Improve Tourism Infrastructure and Increase the Flow of Foreign Tourists to the Republic of Uzbekistan.”
The goal of the new brand is to promote Uzbekistan’s tourism products on both international and domestic markets and to enhance the country’s image as a safe and attractive destination for travel and leisure.
According to the decree, the Tourism Committee will hold a competition to create the new national tourism brand by 1 October 2024.
In 2024, the committee will also organize the first global tourism media campus as part of International Tourism Day.
To promote tourism from 2024 to 2025, it is planned to attract up to 50 journalists, bloggers, vloggers, and influencers with a combined audience of over 10 million people.
Starting from 1 January 2025, entrepreneurs who organize business events in Uzbekistan lasting at least three days and involving at least 100 foreign participants will pay profit tax on such events at a rate of 50 percent of the established rate until 1 January 2028.
