The event was organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan and brought together representatives of tourism companies and operators, experts and academic circles, the media, and compatriots.

In his welcome speech, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Pakistan Alisher Tukhtayev emphasized the historical, spiritual, and cultural ties between the two nations. He highlighted the special role of Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, Kokand, Shakhrisabz, and Termez as centers of science, culture, and spiritual heritage that have significantly influenced the development of Islamic civilization.

Speaking about the upcoming 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference, which will take place in Samarkand from October 30 to November 13, the diplomat noted that hosting such a prestigious international forum is recognition of Uzbekistan’s achievements in culture, science, education, and communication.

The Ambassador also announced an increase in Uzbekistan Airways flights on the Tashkent – Islamabad route, creating additional opportunities for the development of tourism and business ties between the two countries.

As stated by the President of the Sustainable Tourism Foundation of Pakistan Aftab-ur-Rehman Rana, relations between Uzbekistan and Pakistan in the tourism sector are developing dynamically.

“There are broad opportunities for exchanging experience and implementing joint initiatives. New air routes will significantly simplify travel and create conditions for active pilgrimage and cultural tourism”, he emphasized.

The ceremony culminated in the presentation of the Tourism Brand Ambassador of Uzbekistan certificate to the leader of the Naqshbandiya order in Pakistan, Sheikh Muhammad Naqeeb Ur Rahman Hamid Mahmood Chaudhary.

In his remarks, the Sheikh expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and noted that he intends to actively contribute to promoting Uzbekistan’s tourism potential.

“My goal is to strengthen cultural and spiritual ties between our peoples, develop pilgrimage, cultural, and academic tourism, and implement joint projects with tourism organizations of both countries”, he said.
