WNAM REPORT: The Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting with representatives of the state-owned enterprise Chengdu Environment Investment Group of the People’s Republic of China.
The guests were informed about the reforms in Uzbekistan’s waste management system and the formation of a favorable investment environment.
The Chinese company’s leadership discussed the long-term plans expected to be implemented in Uzbekistan and expressed interest in the treatment facilities’ activities.
The guests got acquainted with the Situation Center operating under the ministry, the Republican Center for the Organization of Sanitary and Treatment Works, and the activities of the Directorate for the Management of Waste Landfills.
Following the event, a Memorandum of Cooperation in developing and implementing waste-to-energy projects in Uzbekistan was signed with Chengdu Xingrong Renewable Energy and Chengdu Shiny Technology within the structure of the state-owned enterprise Chengdu Environment Investment Group.
