WNAM REPORT: During the international conference on “Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan: New Prospects for Mutually Beneficial Cooperation”, organized in Tashkent by the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan in partnership with the Center for International Relations Analysis of Azerbaijan, the AIR Center head Farhad Mammadov, made a report in which he outlined several key areas for the development of cooperation between the countries of Central Asia and the South Caucasus.
Thus, according to him, regionalism is becoming the primary trend of the modern multipolar world and plays a vital role in developing international relations. The speaker emphasized the need to coordinate the efforts of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan to build cooperation between Central Asia and the South Caucasus.
The Azerbaijani expert also called for multilateral platforms to ensure regional security, noting the importance of the region’s countries’ participation in international organizations such as the OTS, SCO, CICA, and the Non-Aligned Movement.
In addition, Farhad Mammadov noted the need for active development of the North-South Transport Corridor and closer cooperation between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan in the context of joint access to the markets of Afghanistan, Pakistan, and the Middle East.
