WNAM REPORT: Representatives of “Turkmenaragatnashyk” Agency as part of the Turkmen delegation are taking part in the World Smart City Expo in Seoul. The visit, which will last until September 7, is aimed at sharing experience with the Republic of Korea in the development of “smart cities”, in particular, to optimize the project of Arkadag city.
The delegation is headed by the Chairman of the “Turkmenaragatnashyk” Agency. The main purpose of the trip is to study advanced technologies and practices in the field of health care for the realization of a medical cluster in the new city.
Within the framework of the visit, meetings with Korean manufacturers of medical equipment and visits to specialized plants are planned. This will permit Turkmen specialists to familiarize themselves with the latest achievements in the field of medical technologies and assess the possibilities of their application in Arkadag city.
The “Turkmenaragatnashyk” Agency, part of the Agency of Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, plays a key role in the development of the country’s telecommunications infrastructure. It is responsible for implementing the state policy in the field of communications, including local and cellular communications, internet, postal services, digital economy, cyber security and satellite communications.
The participation of the Agency’s representatives in the international exhibition emphasizes Turkmenistan’s aspiration to introduce innovative solutions in the field of urban planning and telecommunications. This is especially relevant in the context of the development of the new city of Arkadag, which is planned to become a model of a modern “smart city”.
