WNAM REPORT: The Republican referendum on the construction of a nuclear power plant in Kazakhstan, which will take place on October 6, will start and end slightly later in the UK than in Kazakhstan. This is due to the fact that London is four hours behind Astana, News correspondent reports.
Polling station No. 376 is located in the building of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in the UK. Inside the station, there will be an information board about the referendum and a ballot box. The commission members will ensure full compliance with the rules.
As previous experience shows, the number of voters tends to increase closer to noon compared to the morning hours, as Kazakhstanis arriving from different parts of the UK will reach the station by that time.
It is expected that the majority of the referendum participants will be students, as they are usually highly active. In addition to students, compatriots temporarily residing in the UK, as well as Kazakh tourists and those on business trips, will also come to the polling station to fulfil their civic duty.
“Preparations for the republican referendum are in full swing. All conditions will be created for accredited journalists with editorial assignments to cover this important event,” said Ruslan Karabulov, the chairman of the polling station commission No. 376.
The station will open at 7 am. local time, and voting will continue until 8 pm. Afterward, the commission members will begin counting the votes.
