Moscow: “The Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) is gearing up to send observers for the upcoming presidential elections in Azerbaijan and Russia, scheduled for February 2024, as well as the parliamentary and local elections in Belarus,” CIS Secretary General Sergey Lebedev told journalists.
He highlighted the preparation of the CIS Executive Committee for monitoring these elections, emphasizing that a formal request had been received only from Azerbaijan, while oral requests had also been acknowledged.
“Official Baku is the first to submit a written request as they will be conducting their elections first,” Lebedev added.
