Tashkent ( WNAM MONITORING): The Uzbek-Chinese business forum took place in the city of Chengdu, bringing together delegations from both countries.

In his address, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bakhtiyor Saidov, emphasized the unprecedented growth in the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and China, particularly in the economic sphere. He noted that hosting the forum in Chengdu reflects the genuine mutual interest of both sides in deepening cooperation and achieving new milestones.

The forum focused on the launch of “green” industrial facilities, the creation of environmentally friendly supply chains, the development of innovations, and the establishment of sustainable transportation and energy infrastructure.

During the event, participants explored the economic potential of the Navoi region, which is strengthening ties with Sichuan Province and signing promising agreements. Saidov highlighted that, despite the noticeable growth in bilateral trade and investments, the full potential of cooperation between the two countries has yet to be realized. He expressed gratitude to all partners who contributed to organizing this successful forum.

As part of the forum, the Uzbek foreign minister met with Wang Xiaohui, Secretary of the Sichuan Provincial Party Committee. Saidov stressed the importance of direct interaction between the regions of both countries, which plays a key role in achieving the ambitious goals set by the leaders of Uzbekistan and China.

One of the forum’s major achievements was the agreement to establish the Navoi-Sichuan Industrial Park in the city of Navoi.

The meeting addressed issues such as strengthening ties between business communities, creating favorable conditions for companies, implementing joint projects, and maintaining regular exchanges.

Bakhtiyor Saidov also held talks with Zhang Zhenghong, Chairman of Shudao Investment Group, focusing on leveraging China’s advanced expertise in road infrastructure development and enhancing investment cooperation. The minister expressed hope for the formation of a robust partnership that would yield significant benefits for both parties.

Tourism and hospitality, two rapidly developing sectors in Uzbekistan, also received special attention. Saidov highlighted the substantial increase in tourist numbers from across the globe.

In a meeting with Zhang Jianming, Chairman of Minyoun Group, discussions centered on unlocking the potential of the tourism industry, including the development of modern and comfortable infrastructure. The minister underscored that this collaboration would open new opportunities to strengthen ties and attract more visitors.
