WNAM MONITORING: Kazakh Tourism National Company won nomination as the most promising new destination in 2025 by China’s Tongcheng Travel agency.
China’s online travel agency Tongcheng Travel boasting over 230 million customers noted a leap in the popularity of Kazakhstan among Chinese tourists.
According to Tongcheng Travel, tourist arrivals in Kazakhstan skyrocketed by 300% in 2024 as compared to the previous year.
Following the Year of Tourism, the number of Chinese tourists arriving in Kazakhstan has almost doubled, Chairman of the Management Board of Kazakh Tourism Kairat Sadvakassov said.
2024 was declared the Year of Kazakhstan Tourism in China. Arrivals from China in Kazakhstan jumped by 78% to reach 655,000 people.
Picturesque landscapes, historical monuments, and cultural heritage stirred great interest in tourists.
