WNAM REPORT: Foreign Minister Wang Yi hosted the Chinese Foreign Ministry’s 2024 New Year reception at the Beijing Performing Arts Center on Friday.
The event was attended by Yin Li, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, along with diplomatic envoys from various countries, representatives of international organizations in China, and officials from Chinese government departments. Approximately 400 people participated in the event.
Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, highlighted that China’s foreign service has upheld the vision of building a community with a shared future for mankind, strived for peace, and assumed responsibility for development. He emphasized that China’s diplomatic efforts have contributed greater stability and positive energy to a turbulent world.
Wang acknowledged that, over the past year, diplomatic envoys and representatives of international organizations have visited various parts of China, building bridges of friendship and strengthening ties between the Chinese people and their respective countries.
China, he stated, is committed to working with all nations to prioritize global well-being, overcome divisions and conflicts, and promote friendship and cooperation. “Together, let us enhance mutual understanding among cultures and build a community with a shared future for mankind,” he said.
Martin Mpana, dean of the foreign diplomatic corps in China and Cameroon’s ambassador to China, extended New Year wishes to the Chinese people on behalf of the diplomatic corps. He commended China’s diplomacy for demonstrating its responsibility as a major country and contributing to addressing global uncertainties and challenges. He added that nations worldwide are eager to deepen friendships, strengthen exchanges and enhance cooperation with China to build a community with a shared future for mankind.
