(WNAM Report): The closing ceremony of “Third Pakistan International Property Housing and Construction Exhibition” organized by Pakistan Association of Exhibition Industry held at the President House. President Dr. Arif Alvi urged businessmen and property developers to initiate joint ventures with foreign companies to attract foreign investment for economic development of the country. The President said that businessmen should take advantage of the opportunities available abroad. He said that Pakistani businessmen have a lot of potential but to move forward, there is a need for reforms, unity and better utilization of intellect and human resources in a proper way.
Business organizations should also adopt the values of social responsibility. And while making a profit, we must conduct our business operations in a manner that is beneficial to the environment. Property developers should follow the construction norms and government regulations and deliver the projects as promised to the customers and this will increase their credibility and trust. He urged the property developers to focus on vertical construction as it would ensure better utilization of land and would also not adversely affect the agriculture sector. He also emphasized on the need for one window operations to improve the business environment in the country and ease of doing business and further promote business activities.
Talking about the tax culture in the country, the President said that the rich class should pay their share in paying taxes so that the government can spend funds on poverty alleviation projects and ensure the education of out-of-school children. can be made He said holding such exhibitions provides an opportunity for local companies to attract foreign investment, develop business and organizational skills, improve the quality of their products and meet potential investors face-to-face. He added that there is also a need to introduce environmentally sustainable construction materials that can also help reduce the cost of construction for the public.
Organizers of the event including Khursheed Barlas highlighted the various aspects of the property expo and the keen interest of people in purchasing residential and commercial units. Chairman Khurshid Barlas said that a conference is being held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on February 24, 2024 to support the Pakistani economy in which companies from tourism, medical tourism, minerals, aviation industry, dairy and agriculture, information communication technology, education, real estate industry and other sectors will participate. The purpose of the conference is to encourage Saudi Arabia to invest in Pakistan.
