WNAM MONITORING: The International Forum on Attracting Foreign Investments (TEIF 2025) will be held in Kuala Lumpur on April 23-24, providing Turkmenistan with the opportunity to attract significant investments in strategically important sectors of the economy, as reported by the country’s official media on Wednesday.
State concerns Türkmengaz and Türkmennebit, along with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan, organize the event with support from the Turkmen Energy Forum. The event will focus on opportunities for cooperation in energy, transportation, agriculture, and industry.
A central theme will be the country’s transition to renewable energy and sustainable development, focusing on reducing methane emissions and expanding renewable initiatives, aligning with global climate goals. Key discussions will include Turkmenistan’s significant natural gas reserves, particularly the Galkynysh field, and the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) pipeline project aimed at enhancing regional energy security. Additional topics will cover gas-to-chemical projects and advanced extraction technologies in the Caspian Sea.
Representatives from OPEC, IRENA, the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, and BNP Paribas, as well as major energy companies like Petronas, TotalEnergies, ExxonMobil, and ADNOC, will participate in the forum. Experts will discuss the prospects of the energy market, new technologies, and opportunities for international cooperation.
Under the slogan “Invest in a Stable, Prosperous, and Dynamic Economy,” TEIF 2025 will serve as a platform for business meetings, panel discussions, and investment project presentations. The forum will build on the success of TEIF 2024, held in Paris, where significant agreements were made.
