WNAM MONITORING: The City of Trade Jobs Festival kicked off in the Kazakh capital as part of the Year of Vocational Jobs declared by the Head of State.
Deputy Prime Minister Tamara Duissenova, Enlightenment Minister Gani Beissembayev, representatives of the largest companies, enterprises and organizations, college students and experts attended the solemn opening ceremony.
Addressing those gathered the Minister emphasized the importance of transformation of vocational education and training system. He announced per capita financing of education at colleges will double starting from September 1.
One of the key events of the Year of Vocational Jobs is to internationalize 10 colleges in Kazakhstan. The main goal is to raise their competitiveness at the global level and bring the country’s educational programs in line with international standards. It is planned to introduce Hungary’s experience in training nuclear power specialists and China’s best IT and drone engineering practices, the Minister said.
Besides, the National Competencies Center will be set up in Astana to support students studying at vocational and technical education facilities. Such centers successfully operate in China, South Korea and the UAE. Notably, the 1st TurkicSkills Championship of the Turkic-speaking countries will be held this fall in Aktau, he added.
The City of Trade Jobs Festival is the first event to officially unveil the Year of Vocational Jobs. It serves as a platform for cooperation of future experts, employers and technical and vocational education facilities. Various seminars and workshops, innovation sessions, career fairs, presentations of startups, concerts and trainings will be held between January 11 and 15.
