WNAM REPORT: Kurash is becoming more popular in European countries, and the number of people involved in this type of wrestling is increasing from year to year.
Various kurash competitions are regularly organized in Europe.
This was discussed at a meeting in Tashkent with the President of the Romanian Kurash Federation.
The President of the Romanian Kurash Federation, Naim Belgin, also visits Uzbek wrestlers’ training and cultural facilities in Tashkent.
Agreements have been reached to develop cooperation in sports and cultural spheres.
Joint projects were discussed at the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan meeting.
First Deputy Chairman of the Kurash Federation of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Kadirov and First Deputy Minister of Culture Avazkhon Tojikhonov proposed to popularize kurash not only in Romania but also in other European countries to increase the number of athletes involved in this sport.
Following the meeting, it was emphasized that the kurash helps strengthen cultural ties and promote a healthy lifestyle.
