Tashkent ( WNAM MONITORING ): In 2024, pharmaceutical production in Uzbekistan reached 5.1 trillion soums, while the sector’s export of goods and services amounted to US$180.1 million.
A total of US$796.9 million has already been invested into the pharmaceutical cluster as part of 21 projects in the cluster’s industrial zone, which covers an area of 84.71 hectares. Construction work has begun on nine of these projects, while pre-project documentation is currently being developed for another eleven.
As part of efforts to implement international quality standards, inspections for compliance with GxP requirements were conducted at 3,785 enterprises in 2024. The number of enterprises certified under GMP standards increased by 54, the number of distributors holding GDP certification reached 318, and 2,538 pharmacies received GPP certification.
For 2025, the pharmaceutical sector plans to attract US$453 million in investments—146% of the previous year’s level.
Within this investment framework, 32 projects totaling $166 million are expected to be launched, creating approximately 1,500 new jobs.
As a result of these initiatives, pharmaceutical production is projected to reach 6.3 trillion soums in 2025, with exports rising to US$250 million.
