WNAM REPORT: As part of the Uzbekistan delegation’s visit to Moscow, a meeting was held between Javlon Vakhabov, Director of the International Institute for Central Asia, and Feodor Voitolovsky, Director of the Primakov National Research Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences, one of Russia’s leading research centers.
At the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the importance of developing and maintaining an ongoing dialogue between the analytical communities of both countries on key regional and international issues. Discussions focused on organizing and conducting joint fundamental and applied research on priority topics and scientific and organizational activities, including seminars, roundtables, and conferences.
Special attention was given to studying the publishing experience of the Institute of World Economy and International Relations, including the publication of research findings in national and internationally recognized scientific and popular science journals, collections of academic works, guides, and methodological recommendations reflecting the institute’s activities.
These and other promising areas of cooperation were formalized in a Cooperation Agreement, signed following negotiations between the heads of the two institutes. Abdulaziz Kamilov, Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan, and Botirjon Asadov, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Russia, attended the signing ceremony.The Russian side was represented by Alexander Dynkin, President of IMEMO, Ivan Danilin, Deputy Director, and leading experts Irina Zvyagelskaya and Stanislav Pritchin.Mr. Vakhabov emphasized that signing the agreement with one of Russia’s leading analytical centers opens new prospects for deepening expert-level cooperation on key interaction issues between Central Asian countries and Russia.In turn, Mr. Voitolovsky reaffirmed IMEMO’s commitment to serious and constructive collaboration, considering the significant potential for cooperation between the two institutions.The signing of the agreement marked an essential step in strengthening cooperation between Uzbekistan’s and Russia’s analytical and research centers. The parties agreed to begin the practical implementation of the agreements reached soon.
