WNAM MONITORING: As part of his visit to Andijan region, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with representatives of foreign companies planning to implement investment projects in the region.
As noted during today’s meeting, this year Andijan plans to commission 763 small and micro hydroelectric power stations with a total capacity of 24 megawatts, with an additional 20 megawatts planned for next year.

One Chinese company expressed its readiness to establish local production of the necessary equipment for these hydroelectric stations directly in the region. The newly built stations will be serviced free of charge for one year.
On the eve of the visit, a large-scale program for urban development and construction in the city of Babur was announced. Many investors expressed interest in participating in the construction of the new city.

In particular, a Chinese investor plans to invest $250 million in developing a modern multifunctional complex. According to the project, a business center, a hotel, shopping complexes, and residential buildings comprising 3,000 apartments will be built on a 55-hectare site.
Detailed information on this and other projects was presented at the meeting. The Head of state instructed responsible officials to intensify efforts to attract investment, establish close cooperation with investors, and create all necessary conditions for effective engagement.
Thereupon, the President completed his visit to Andijan region. The Head of state returned to Tashkent.
