RAWALPINDI ( WNAM REPORT: A grand reunion and get-together of former students of Muslim High School No. 1, Saidpur Road, Rawalpindi was held in the school hall, attended by a large number of alumni spanning from the class of 1948 to the present. This was the third such event organized for the school’s alumni. The first reunion took place in 2013 as part of the school’s centenary celebrations, and the second was held on March 7, 2020, due to the efforts of Dr. Muaz Malik.
This third reunion, held after a gap of five years, owes its success to the tireless efforts of Dr. Muaz Malik, Dr. Jamal Nasir, Anis Ahmed, Shahid Razi Khan, Dr. Shuja ud Din, Farooq Iqbal Razaki, Zia Ullah Sheikh, and Adis Ahmed Syed. Thanks to their hard work, nearly 200 former students gathered to revive old memories. Many emotional moments were witnessed as the attendees visited their old classrooms and reminisced about their school days.
Notably, one student from 1948 batch named as Munwer Ali Sheikh, presently bed ridden participated via video link.
Participants highly appreciated the event and expressed a desire for such reunions to be held annually, providing alumni with a chance to reconnect with their classmates and fellow students. The school principal proposed the formation of an alumni committee to contribute to the school’s welfare and development projects and to oversee their implementation. The suggestion was warmly welcomed, and it was decided that a committee would soon be established.
During the event, speakers not only shared fond memories but also praised the efforts of the organizers.
They also paid rich tributes to their teachers, especially the then Principal Syed Niaz Ahmed Tirmizi, for his significant contributions to their growth and success.
