WNAM REPORT: The delegation led by the Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Islamov, attended the Conference of the High Courts of the Turkic States in Antalya, Türkiye.
The event, which was also attended by delegations of the Supreme Courts of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and the Kyrgyz Republic, the Chairmen of the Court of Cassation and the State Council (Supreme Administrative Court) of the Republic of Türkiye, as well as the Secretary General of the OTS, was held in a spirit of mutual understanding and trust.
The parties discussed current issues of justice and considered the prospects for judicial cooperation in various fields of law.
Representatives of the delegations noted the importance of expanding and strengthening cooperation to further improve the activities of judicial authorities in protecting human rights and freedoms.
The parties also stressed the importance of developing and strengthening cooperation in justice within the framework of the OTS, and agreed to improve coordination of court activities, create common platforms for consultations, implement joint projects, exchange information and experience in law, and maintain regular contacts in this area.
Following the event, the Charter of the conference was signed, which sets out the legal framework governing these issues.
