WNAM REPORT: The Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Tanzila Narbayeva, met with the European Union Special Representative for Central Asia, Eduards Stiprais.
The parties discussed elevating the relationship between the parliaments of Uzbekistan and the European Union to a new level and continuing the exchange of views and information on pressing regional and global issues.
It was emphasized that the first “Central Asia – European Union” summit, held in Samarkand, was an essential foundation for strengthening mutual trust and establishing a stable dialogue between the two regions.
The active participation of representatives from European parliaments in the 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, held in April in Tashkent, was highly praised.
The parties expressed their commitment to the continued advancement of political dialogue, the exchange of best practices in legislative processes, and the strengthening of interparliamentary relations.
