WNAM REPORT: The resumption of the Almaty-Ashgabat flight is possible this year. This intention was expressed at a bilateral meeting by the Director General of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Mammetkhan Chakiyev and the Minister of Transport of Kazakhstan Marat Karabayev.
As reported on the website of the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan, the Turkmen side is working on the issue of resuming the flight this year, which will contribute to the further development of trade, economic and tourism cooperation between the two countries.
In the road sector, joint work is expected to develop the North-South corridor. In Mangistau Oblast, road workers will begin repairing the road from the city of Zhanaozen to the border of Turkmenistan through Kenderli in May. About 200 kilometers of road with two-lane traffic will be laid.
In the area of road transport and international transportation, the parties agreed to digitalize the entire process of exchanging foreign permit forms (FPF). This will significantly increase transit between countries and speed up the transportation of goods.
