WNAM MONIORING: The harvesting of grain legumes in Dashoguz velayat has entered its final stage. This year, a good crop of mung beans has been grown on 7,300 hectares, and cowpeas on 410 hectares. Thanks to accumulated experience in crop care and the timely implementation of all agrotechnical measures, the velayat’s farmers expect to successfully complete the planned tasks for harvesting this valuable raw material again.

Among the main producers of grain legumes this year are the farmers from Akdepe, Boldumsaz, Kunya-Urgench etraps, and S. Turkmenbashi etrap. Leading the harvest efforts are the farmers of Shabat etrap, where the collection of mung beans and cowpeas has already met the planned targets.

In total, farmers in the velayat expect to harvest at least 15 centners per hectare.

It should be noted that grain legumes are not only suitable for mass production under the local weather and climate conditions but also help improve the meliorative composition of the soil. In the area, for planting material, they strive to choose well-established crop varieties and carefully select plots of land for sowing. This, along with proper care of the cultivated crops, allows for high yields.

The annually high production volumes help meet consumer demand for high-quality nutritious products that contain a large amount of beneficial substances and promote health, while allowing affordable prices to be maintained year-round.
