WNAM REPORT: Pakistan and Azerbaijan are set to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the fight against corruption, said Deputy Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Sohail Nasir.
Speaking at the 6th plenary meeting of the Global Operational Network of Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Authorities, organized by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime in Baku, he said that international cooperation is the most vital aspect in the fight against corruption.
According to a press release, Sohail Nasir said that Pakistan and Azerbaijan are prepared to finalize the agreement, stressing the need to work “shoulder to shoulder” to tackle corruption effectively.
He noted that Azerbaijan and Pakistan can exchange experiences in the fight against corruption and organize joint training. These steps, especially in combating the most serious issue of money laundering, can yield very positive results. The MoU will pave the way for joint initiatives such as seminars, training programs, capacity building, and knowledge sharing. “This collaboration will enhance our mutual efforts in promoting transparency and accountability,” Nasir added.
Deputy Chairman NAB appreciated Azerbaijan’s hosting of this event and stated that” we are ready for all kinds of support and wish to work with Azerbaijan.
