It is a pity that the fever of dynastic politics instead of subsiding is increasing by the day. Reports are that the two sons of the PTI chief are going to jump into the political arena of the country and likewise the grandson of late ZA Bhutto too has also been toying with idea of forming a new political party.
There is no dearth of young honest and capable persons in every political party worth its salt in this country but the head of very political party simply doesn’t allow them to come to the top as he wants to run his party like a fiefdom which is a negation of democracy.
The JI seems to be the only political party which is devoid of this flaw.
Why can’t we introduce the proportional representation system in our electoral set up like the one in vogue in the Scandinavian countries where every segment of society gets seats in the parliament on the basis of its actual population with the result that candidates actually belonging to a segment sits in the parliament unlike ours where capitalists represent the have nots. A revolutionary change is needed in our electoral system.
