ANF’s Countrywide Crackdown against Drug Smugglers

ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT): During nine operations, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) arrested nine suspects, including three women.
65.278 kilograms of drugs, worth approximately 9.829 million rupees (PKR), were recovered.
Targeted Operations against Drug Proliferation in Educational Institutions
• In Peshawar, 3 kilograms of heroin was recovered from a vehicle near a college on University Road, the suspect was arrested.
• Another suspect was arrested near a university in Peshawar with 1.5 kilograms of hashish in his personal possession.
• The arrested suspects confessed selling drugs to students of educational institutions.
Other Operations:
• At Faisalabad Airport, 1.378 kilograms of crystal meth (Ice). hidden in a trolley bag, was recovered from the luggage of a Qatar bound passenger. The suspect was arrested.
• On Warsak Road, Peshawar, 1.8 kilograms of hashish was recovered from Gujrat and Karachi bound parcels via a courier office.
• Near the Sohrab Goth bus stand in Karachi, two women were arrested with 12 kilograms of hashish.
• Near the Jamshoro Toll Plaza, a female passenger with 12 kilograms of hashish was taken into custody.
• In Lahore, near GT Road, Shalimar Bagh, a motorcyclist was caught with 13.20 kilograms of hashish and 6 kilograms of opium.
• Near Hijrat Colony in Karachi, another motorcyclist was arrested with 12 kilograms of hashish.
• At the Islamabad Motorway Toll Plaza, a passenger on a bus was arrested with 2.4 kilograms of hashish.
Cases have been registered against the arrested individuals under the Counter Narcotics Force Act 1997, and the investigations are underway.
