ISLAMABAD( WNAM REPORT):  Renowned international mountaineer Sajid Sadpara, under the Clean and Green Islamabad Movement, planted saplings along with Chairman Clean and Green Islamabad Movement Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari at G-7 (Sitara Market) and I-8 Markaz during a tree plantation drive.
On this occasion, Clean and Green Islamabad Movement also installed dustbins in both commercial centers to ensure better waste management and cleanliness. A large awareness walk was also organized, in which a significant number of citizens, along with the trader community of both commercial centers, actively participated and pledged their full support towards making the cleanliness campaign a success.
Prominent participants included: President G-7 Markaz Sitara Market Syed Altaf Hussain Shah, General Secretary Rana Muhammad Akram, President I-8 Markaz Chaudhry Waheed Cheema, General Secretary I-8 Markaz Rana Muhammad Bilal, Chairman I-8 Markaz Yasir Jamil Abbasi, Patron-in-Chief Abrar Hussain Bhatti, along with Khalid Chaudhry, Nisar Mirza, Chaudhry Ashraf Farzand, Ahmad Khan, Raees Abbasi, Hafiz Abid, Turab Ahmed Abbasi, Ijaz Ahmed, Zafran Mir, Raza Ahmed Abbasi, Muhammad Fayaz and others.
Addressing the ceremony, world-famous mountaineer Sajid Sadpara said: “Cleanliness and tree plantation are both vital for our survival. Just as climbing the world’s highest peaks gives us energy through clean air and natural beauty, our cities too need a clean and green environment for the sake of future generations. Planting this sapling today symbolizes our shared responsibility to protect the environment.”
Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari, in his speech, said: “In line with the vision of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, we all must play our role in making Islamabad a clean, green, and healthy city. The Clean and Green Islamabad Movement has now become a national campaign, bringing together traders, students, citizens, and institutions.”
Syed Altaf Hussain Shah stated that the trader community will always stand shoulder to shoulder with the Clean and Green Islamabad Movement in cleanliness and tree plantation drives. “Only our collective efforts can make our city exemplary.”
Rana Muhammad Akram remarked: “Cleanliness is half of faith. By adopting it, we can make Islamabad not only beautiful but also a model city for others.”
Chaudhry Waheed Cheema emphasized that citizens must step forward to join this campaign, as no cleanliness or plantation drive can achieve lasting success without public participation.
Rana Muhammad Bilal said traders will spread the message within their community that “Cleanliness and a green environment are the guarantees of our children’s future.”
Yasir Jamil Abbasi added that this initiative is not only crucial for environmental protection but also a step towards a healthier lifestyle for the citizens of Islamabad.
Abrar Hussain Bhatti noted that the beginning made by the Clean and Green Islamabad Movement is a gift for future generations and is in line with our social and religious values.
Other speakers reaffirmed their commitment to making Islamabad clean, green, and beautiful, stressing that institutions, the business community, and the public must continue working together to achieve this vision.
