“Science on Wheels” – A Remarkable Educational Initiative by China Media Group in Islamabad

WNAM REPORT: A dignified ceremony was held at Islamabad Model School for Girls under the welfare educational program “Science on Wheels” by China Media Group (CMG). The event was attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Education, educators, academic experts, and a large number of underprivileged students.

This program is a significant initiative by China Media Group aimed at promoting science education and academic development. Its core objective is to bring modern scientific knowledge to children who face financial constraints in completing their education. Through mobile science caravans, the program showcases engaging and informative films in different regions to spark students’ interest in science and technology.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Tauqeer Ahmad Khan, Director General of Regional Services at Allama Iqbal Open University, said that initiatives like “Science on Wheels” not only help reduce educational disparities but also nurture scientific thinking and a spirit of inquiry among Pakistan’s youth. He emphasized that such steps are a guarantee of a brighter future for society, as knowledge is the ladder to progress.

Dr. Tariq Masood, former Director General at the Ministry of Education and faculty member at Pakistan Embassy College in China, described CMG’s initiative as a beautiful chapter of educational collaboration in the friendly relations between Pakistan and China. He stated that the program is a beacon of hope for children who are deprived of quality education due to lack of resources. Programs like “Science on Wheels” not only motivate these students but also introduce them to better opportunities for the future.

Rukhsana Shahid, Principal of Islamabad Model School for Girls, said the program has reignited curiosity and enthusiasm for science among students. She thanked China Media Group, noting that such educational efforts boost students’ confidence and broaden their academic horizons.

Wang Bing Xia (Ms. Iffat), representative of CMG Urdu Service, in her conversation with the students, said the primary aim of “Science on Wheels” is to familiarize children with modern scientific knowledge and its practical significance. She added that integrating technology in education and promoting scientific thinking lays the foundation for future development, which is the message CMG aims to deliver to students across Pakistan.

At the conclusion of the event, students watched a series of engaging scientific films through the mobile “Caravan Van,” which captivated their attention. Participants praised CMG’s effort as an outstanding example of promoting knowledge, collaboration, and friendship.
