ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT ): The High Commission of Malaysia Mohammad Azhar Mazlan  hosted an engaging networking event under the theme “Engagement with Stakeholders and Friends of Malaysia in Pakistan”, aimed at deepening mutual understanding and strengthening people-to-people ties between the two nations.

Speaking at the occasion, the High Commissioner  emphasized the importance of enhancing collaboration beyond political and economic spheres to include cultural and human exchanges. He appreciated the warm hospitality of the Pakistani people, noting that “Pakistanis are among the most hospitable people in the world.”

The High Commissioner highlighted recent high-level exchanges between the two countries, including Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s visit to Pakistan and Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s reciprocal visit to Malaysia, both of which contributed to advancing bilateral relations to greater heights.

He underscored the need to build on this momentum by expanding cooperation in trade, investment, education, and tourism. Malaysia, he said, is already investing in Pakistan’s palm oil, power, and telecommunications sectors, with further opportunities ahead.

Malaysia’s successful experience in the halal industry and tourism sector was also shared as an example of potential collaboration areas. The High Commissioner expressed optimism about Pakistan’s vast potential, encouraging more joint ventures and cultural exchanges.

Reaffirming Malaysia’s commitment to friendship with Pakistan, he said, “We are sincere in our desire to take Malaysia-Pakistan relations to new heights—politically, economically, and at the human level.”
