ISLAMABAD (WNAM REPORT): 14th Meeting of IPR Enforcement Coordination Committee, Islamabad held at IPO Head Office, Islamabad. The meeting was chaired by Nouman Aslam, Director General IPO-Pakistan and attended by Senior Officers from IPO, DRAP, Pakistan Customs, FIA, Islamabad Police, PEMRA, ICCI and OICCI. DG IPO highlighted the importance of Intellectual Property Rights for business development. He emphasized the LEAs for capacity building of their field officers about IPR Enforcement and robust awareness campaign among the business community to register their IP rights.
A comprehensive discussion held on IP Management and the progress about IPR Enforcement; Extended Consultation on Draft IPR Enforcement Rules, especially Proposals by OICCI & LCCI; IPR Enforcement Complaints Management System (IPRE-CMS); Sharing of annual data by LEAs with IPO-Pakistan; Capacity Building programs for IPR Enforcement agencies and Awareness sessions for Business Community on IPRs with proposal to establish IP Facilitation Desk at Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI).
