Uzbekistan becomes an active participant in international space diplomacy

WNAM REPORT: For the first time, the Uzcosmos Agency represented the country’s interests at the 65th session of the Legal Subcommittee of the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space, held in Vienna.

During the session, international legal issues related to the regulation of space activities were discussed. Particular attention was paid to regulating the sector in accordance with international norms, implementing UN space treaties, addressing liability for space objects, and aligning national legislation with international standards.

The delegation of Uzbekistan provided information on the state policy in the space sector and the reforms being implemented in this area. Priority directions included improving the regulatory and legal framework, introducing space technologies into the economy, and expanding international cooperation.

Information was also provided on preparations to host the International Astronautical Congress 2028 in Samarkand. This initiative received high praise from the international community.
