KARACHI ( WNAM MONITORING): State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), on Wednesday, announced that the central bank would issue the Rs 75 commemorative coin to mark the 75th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China.
Pakistan and China formally established diplomatic relations on May 21, 1951 and to mark the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China, the Government of Pakistan has decided to issue a commemorative coin of Rs.75 denomination, said a SBP statement issued here.
The coin would be available to the general public from May 25, through the exchange counters of field offices of SBP Banking Services Corporation, it added.
Describing the specifications of the commemorative coin, the SBP informed that the Copper-Nickel coin, weighing 19 grams, should be round in shape milled with serration on the edge.
The obverse side of the coin displays the waxing crescent moon and a five-pointed star in the center, wording “ISLAMI JAMHURIA PAKISTAN” in Urdu script inscribed along with periphery on the top while the year of issuance is given below the crescent.
The face value of coin in numeral “75” in bold letters and ‘RUPIA’ in Urdu script are written on the right and left sides of the crescent star respectively on the top of two springs of wheat with arms curved upward.
On the reverse side of the coin along with periphery, wording “75TH ANNIVERSARY OF PAKISTAN AND CHINA DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS” in English script is written on top side while words “TRUST FRIENDSHIP SUPPORT” on lower side of the coin.
National flags of Pakistan and China are shown in the center of the coin with artistically designed numeral “75” below them while years “1951” and “2026” are shown on the left and right sides of the numeral.
In Urdu and Chinese script, wordings “PAK CHEEN SAFARATI TAULUQAT KAY 75 SAAL” are written above the national flags and “EITAMAD-DOSTI-MU’AWANAT” below the numeral “75”.
