ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT ): President Tourism for Interfaith Peace and Development and President of Lakeshore Club, Syed Sadat Hussain Shah, stated that making the upcoming federal budget investor and tourism friendly is the need of the hour in order to help project Pakistan’s positive image at the global level.
He said that Pakistan is a country rich in natural beauty, historical heritage, religious sites, and cultural diversity, but unfortunately the tourism sector has not received the governmental attention it truly deserves.
He added that the tourism industry is considered a major pillar of the economy worldwide, and many countries generate a significant portion of their GDP through this sector. Pakistan also possesses immense opportunities in northern areas tourism, religious tourism, historical sites, lakes, desert culture, and eco-tourism, which can strengthen the national economy if developed along modern lines.
He expressed hope that the government, in the upcoming budget, will give special priority to the tourism and investment sectors and take positive and long-term measures for Pakistan’s economic growth.
