ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT): President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), Sardar Tahir Mehmood, has said that Youm-e-Takbeer is a historic milestone that symbolizes Pakistan’s sovereignty, national pride and defence strength. He stated that May 28, 1998, remains a golden chapter in the country’s history when Pakistan emerged as a nuclear power and made its defence impregnable in response to regional challenges.
In his message on Youm-e-Takbeer here on Thursday, Sardar Tahir Mehmood said that the day reflects the spirit of national unity, self-reliance and unwavering commitment to the country’s stability and progress. He added that Pakistan’s nuclear capability restored the strategic balance in South Asia and enhanced the nation’s security on strong and credible foundations.
The ICCI President emphasized that economic stability and industrial development are the real pillars of a strong national defence. He said that the business community will continue to play its due role in strengthening the economy, promoting investment and supporting sustainable growth to make Pakistan economically resilient.
Sardar Tahir Mehmood underlined the importance of empowering the younger generation through science, technology, innovation and research. He said that the future progress and competitiveness of Pakistan depend upon equipping youth with modern knowledge and technical skills.
He further stated that Pakistan is a responsible nuclear state that firmly believes in peace, regional stability and mutual respect among nations. He reiterated that Pakistan’s strategic capability is solely meant for safeguarding national sovereignty and ensuring peace in the region.
Paying tribute to the architects of Pakistan’s nuclear programme, Sardar Tahir Mehmood said the nation proudly acknowledges the services and sacrifices of its scientists, armed forces and national leadership whose dedication made the country’s defence invincible.
He urged the nation to renew its commitment on Youm-e-Takbeer to work collectively for a stronger, progressive and economically stable Pakistan.
