Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Georgia FMs to meet in Istanbul

BAKU ( WNAM MONITORING):The 10th meeting of the foreign ministers of Türkiye, Azerbaijan and Georgia will be held in Istanbul on Monday said sources at the Turkish Foreign Ministry.

According to the information, the meeting, to be attended by Hakan Fidan, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Georgian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Maka Bochorishvili, will review existing cooperation between the three countries and discuss areas of joint activity for the coming period.

The main topics on the agenda are said to include regional processes, foreign policy issues and cooperation in the South Caucasus, transport, strengthening regional transit networks and energy security, as well as deepening trade and economic cooperation.

Sources noted that Fidan will emphasize that the strategic importance of the South Caucasus is increasing further at a time of growing geopolitical uncertainty, economic difficulties and security challenges.

The meeting will stress that the trilateral cooperation mechanism between the countries is an important and results-oriented platform that promotes stability and prosperity in the region, and that Türkiye”s strong and multifaceted relations with Azerbaijan and Georgia make significant contributions to regional stability and economic integration.

The focus will be on strengthening regional transport projects along the Middle Corridor, especially the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line, developing logistics networks and increasing transport capacity.
