Tajikistan’s first major agro-logistics centers, currently under construction in Khatlon and Sughd provinces, are expected to become operational by the end of 2027.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture Nigina Anvari announced this at a news conference in Dushanbe on July 9 while responding to journalists’ questions.
According to her, the facilities will become an important part of the country’s agricultural logistics infrastructure.
“There are several types of such facilities, which in Tajikistan are referred to as agro-logistics or agricultural logistics centers,” Anvari said.
Construction of the center in Sughd province is the most advanced, while another facility is being built in Khatlon province.
“In Jaloliddini-Balkhi district, construction is more than 60 percent complete. Under the current plan, the facility is expected to be commissioned by the end of 2027,” she said.
The second center is being built in a free economic zone in Sughd province.
“About 70 percent of the construction work in Sughd has already been completed. This facility is also expected to begin operating by the end of 2027,” Anvari said.
In Dushanbe, the project remains at the preparatory stage. According to the deputy minister, a land plot has already been allocated and the tender process has been completed.
“The mayor of Dushanbe has adopted a decision on the allocation of land. The World Bank and the Project Implementation Center have also conducted a tender for the construction work,” she said.
Construction of the Dushanbe agro-logistics center is expected to begin by the end of 2026.
