Tashkent: An opening ceremony of the new Hilton Samarkand Regency hotel took place in Samarkand region. The 20-storey hotel, located in the Silk Road Samarkand tourist center, has become the next hotel of one of the leading brands in the hospitality industry – Hilton.
The event was attended by the Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan Aziz Abdukhakimov, Deputy Khokim of Samarkand Region for Tourism Rustam Kobilov, Managing Director of the Tourist Complex Gadzhi Kurbanov, General Manager of the Hilton Samarkand Regency Hotel Murat Yetisgen and media representatives.
“In recent years, many world-famous hotel chains have entered the tourism market of Uzbekistan. Examples include Hilton, Intercontinental, Hayyat, Redisson, Minyon, Muvenpik, Vindxam, Ramada, Akkor and others. This, of course, is based on large-scale reforms in the tourism sector under the leadership of the head of state; the favorable conditions created for entrepreneurs in this area contribute to the improvement of the business environment every day,” said Aziz Abdukhakimov.
“The president recently extended subsidies and a number of benefits for new hotels until 2026. Since January of this year, in order to increase the number of hotels and improve the quality of service, a system has been introduced to cover part of the costs of investors for the construction and equipment of a new hotel. Royalties for resident organizations of the Republic of Uzbekistan using world-famous and prestigious hotel brands will also be partially financed,” the minister added.
Hilton Samarkand Regency features several restaurants and bars. The hotel’s banquet hall is designed to host a variety of events, including banquets, conferences and meetings. In addition, the hotel offers its guests the Nephrite SPA&Wellness center, indoor and outdoor swimming pools and other recreational facilities. Currency exchange services and a 24-hour front desk are also available.
“We managed to bring this brand to our walls, and this is another qualitative step in improving hotel service in the Samarkand region. The opening of another five-star hotel takes the Silk Road Samarkand tourist complex to a new level,” said Gadzhi Kurbanov.
