ISLAMABAD : ( WNAM REPORT ): Abdul Razzaq Siddiq, President of Second World Traders, Inc., has launched the 2World ASVS program to provide free Anti-Snake Bite Serum to patients across Pakistan, including remote and rural areas. Siddiq announced procurement of 10,000 vials of anti-venom for nationwide distribution through 12 hospital branches. The serum will be supplied free of cost to ensure timely treatment for all patients.
The initiative was launched on Ashura to reflect the values of compassion and service to humanity taught by Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA).“Snakebite deaths are preventable. We will ensure anti-venom reaches every village and every person who needs it,” Siddiq said. “We are not here to make money. Our priority is humanity.”Snakebite envenomation causes thousands of deaths annually in Pakistan, with rural communities most affected. Globally, WHO estimates 138,000 deaths per year due to delayed anti-venom access.
With 30+ years in pharmaceuticals, Siddiq leads a leading biological company in the Philippines. He outlined future plans including free snake venom serum supply, tetanus and childhood vaccines, and reduced-price cancer medicines. The company also plans to establish local manufacturing facilities in Pakistan to meet international quality standards.Health experts and civil society have welcomed the initiative as a critical step toward reducing preventable deaths.
